This exceptional product is made in the workshop of Fabien KACZMAREC, master mead maker, capacity 0.5 l
The fruit of many years of work, Apis Terrae mead is not only the expression of water and honey. He is the worthy ambassador of French know-how in winemaking & oenology transposed to the wonderful world of bees.
The production is atypical in that it is produced exclusively "in small vintages" for better development of the organoleptic qualities of the product. Performance is not essential, what matters to the manufacturer is the finished product, unique, authentic and refined, the mark of quality know-how.
History of Mead: The gold of great reigns
It is difficult to precisely date the appearance of mead in history. However, we find ancient and proven traces all over the world. It would be wise to think that mead has existed since man knew how to "harvest" wild honey, and that this natural sugar, when fermented, produces alcohol. Honey having been for millennia the sweet substance (which can be preserved) par excellence, it is not surprising that we find traces of mead in several great civilizations throughout history.
Wandering from fabulous poems to fanciful legends, from catchy jigs to chimerical remarks, this beverage has traveled through time.
Sometimes compared to Chouchen - a commercial brand that has become traditional in Brittany - whose name remains uncertain on its composition in addition to having generally higher levels of alcohol and sugar (which unfortunately limits it to the role of an aperitif), the mead is today experiencing a resurgence in popularity on the national territory, but also in Europe and on the American continent.
Riding for a moment on a medieval fashion which at the time monopolized the product almost as an exclusivity, mead wants to be the carrier of "the drink of the gods", "the divine nectar" or even the "magic potion " of Asterix as some claim. What is it really?
With all due respect to lovers of vikings, knights of Asgard and other diehard Gauls, mead is not just that, it is MUCH MORE than that...a true wine pairing intended for tableware.
